La Campiona
Bibiana Aguilar Garcia

Grade: 12
Card Number: 14
Refran: "With god giving me life
My back will hold"
Card Description: For my Loteria Card, I wanted to share my thoughts on how pregnant women’s work in the field. I chose Field and strawberries as a subject matter because that a very hard work. The colors that the piece has is light blue representing the day that passes every day. The light brown represents the loneliness of a person who works every day in the field to give a better life to his family. For me personally, this card represents a pregnant woman who works too much and who gives everything so that she can have everything that she needs. But I want the audience to see how strong and hard-working a pregnant woman is. What inspired me to choose the theme of my lottery is that many pregnant women work too much and do too much thing at home too and they don't rest. What I learned from my research is that even if a woman is tired, she will continue working. I decide to work on this theme because I have seen some women’s work being pregnant and even they are tired they still wake up and go to work. Work in the field is not very essay because there are back pain and more when the woman is pregnant.
Student Biography: My name is Bibiana Aguilar and I am a Senior at Santa Maria High School. I live in Santa Maria, California with my parent and my sister that is Magali, and my two brothers that are Luis and Fabian. What inspired me to draw my Loteria card was that one time I went to work and I saw a pregnant woman working in the field. The subject of my Loteria was La Campiona because there are many pregnant women who are hard workers and never give up and always look forward. The artistic process was that no matter the weather, a woman goes and works, that is what inspired me the most to work hard. Life after high school will be very difficult because sometimes whatever you set out to do, you can achieve it, but maybe not, and even when you get support from your family you can do better.
