Card Description: For my Loteria Card I wanted to share my thoughts on phone problems as in phone addiction and a lot of the times cell phones affect our daily lives and is our salvation of living. I was inspired by the subject of phone addiction because I know my cell phone has impacted my life and I cannot live without it The colors in the piece represent.  The colors in my piece represent a cell phone with a skull and chains on the hands show how we are stuck in a different reality instead of our reality and we don’t have a free of will. For me personally, this card represents how cell phones is a bad habit and can cause a lot of horrible emotion and not a good state of mind, and its not because of the person is in a good state of mind but cells phone are the cause of our emotions when being more addicted.


Student Biography: My name is Angel Valdez-Cossio Gabriel and I am a senior at Santa Maria High School I live in Santa Maria, California with my mom that is from Durango and my dad from Guadalajara also with my two siblings. What inspired me to draw my Loteria card was on how addicted I am to my phone and want to bring awareness of others being addicted as well. The artistic process was that It was a lot of struggle
