Card Description: For my loteria card I drew a football player. The reason I drew a football player was because at home it was almost like a tradition to watch/play football, all my brothers played football so growing up football was all around me. The player in the Loteria card represents what my mind map was someone who went a quarterback who went 1st overall in the draft, won a Heisman, and went to the college football playoffs. For me personally this represents what a Quarterbacks dream is. Every accomplishment he had was great. Something that inspired me to draw this was the fact everything in my mind map he had done, so it was a no brainer to choose him. Another reason I chose to draw this player was because he is a quarterback and that my position I play, so it made sense if I was going to draw a football player to make it be a quarterback.

Student Biography: My name is Josue Elena, and I am a Senior at Santa Maria High School I live in Santa Maria, California with my parents and 3 siblings. What inspired me to draw my Loteria card was that my family's cultural tradition is playing in Friday Night Lights or watching football. it seems like everyone in my family plays and watches football to brothers/ cousins. The artistic process was fun and interesting, it took some dedication, but it was more of a fun project than anything. some things ai liked about the art process was being able to work alone in a quiet place, it was a peaceful experience. and everyday just watching my art piece develop more and more into what I pictured it to look like was fun.  Life after high school will be fun, I have always wanted to be a salesman at a car dealership so that's the route I will go with. My two older brothers work at dealerships so getting intel firsthand on how it is and getting to visit those dealerships has been fun, although work is never fun being a salesman or the concept of working with cars (especially BMW's) fascinates me.
