Student Biography: My name is Oscar Gonzalez. I was born in Ohio Hamilton and then went I was two years old my parents decided to go to Mexico. I was in Mexico for seven years and then went I had nine years old I came here in the United States with my parent. I come from a family of five. My hobbies are playing soccer and working out. My plan after high school is to go for four-year straight of university to have more opportunity of getting a good job to take out my parents of working on the field. That message that I want to transmit through my artwork and my refran is that in my artwork show how does priest are part of the responsible of machismo because they have the power to make some change and promote equality of gender but some priest do the opposite thing and they promote machismo toward every woman thinking that women only work to give birth man children. My refran transmit that priest are human of peace but they have a devil heart, and they use their word and their power to oppress women and made women think that they are useful only in their house. In my artwork the picture that I choose to draw was a priest because a priest is part of the problem. Having machismo in religion because some religion promotes machismo against women and other religion, they choose to promote equity of gender. The colors that I chose for my artwork are purple, black, white, red, and skin color. I choose purple because purple represents the weakness or femininity of a women and that is the way that some religion and man see women. I choose that color black because in my opinion some priests are human being of peace, they have a dark heart or side. Also, I choose red because for me this represent that blood of women that has been kill by a man or they had decided to suicide themselves to never experiment violent against by a man that is machista. These elements help me transmit my message because the meaning of the color and other how does the priest has the problem because the priest has the power to make change, but they do not care about promoting equally of gender. My sources influence my artwork because I understand what it means, and I want to transmit this meaning through my artwork.
