Student Biography: My name is Lizbeth Lopez C. I was born in San Luis Obispo and I  am the second oldest, in my family there are six kids in all  including myself and raised by my mother. My plans for after  high school is to major into pre-veterinary or psychology. I still  haven’t made up my mind but I would like to make something  out of myself.  My Lotería card was La Vendida, in many cultures it is a  tradition to sell their daughters into marriage. It goes to show  how women no matter what race, ethnicity, or background  they aren’t given the respect and equality as men. That’s why in  my painting there is a dowry and there’s money, a house,  property and materialistic things that outweigh her as a person.  That represents a women getting sold into marriage and what  she comes with, valuing the “benefits” to marrying this women.
