Card Description: For my Loteria Card I wanted to share my thoughts on Mexican workers in the field. I chose as a subject matter becausei find it very intresting what parents are willing to do for the future of their children I find it very admirable. The colors in the piece represent the color of the enviorment in the afternoon at work . The images in the piece represent the empty fields that you will be working for it shows workergetting paid for working their. For me personally, this card represents the decation for a brighter future it shows the effort parents are willing to do. . I want the audience to see that working in the fields may be hard but at some times its beatuitafull .

Student Biography: My name is Osbaldo Valera and I am a senior at Santa Maria High School. I live in Santa Maria, California with My mother and Father And my 3 brothers Edwin, Iker, Giovanny . My family is from Guerrero. In my Loteria card, I chose to represent The worker that most mexican do in the USA. What inspired me to draw my Loteria card was That i have seen a day in a wokers life how they wake up early in the moring how they get home late to their familys. I hope it gets more attention to be able to help families that dont getto spend much time together. The artistic process was that its dificult expressing how their ay really goes and what they experiance so i decided to show when they get paid in the afternoon before going home to there family.. Life after high school will be something i will try my best to become a biology teacher and i hope my dreams come true I cant wait to experiance the pathway to my dream.
