El conflicto
Alex Montar-Mendoza

Refran: "Pull the trigger if you see the enemy,
dead because you aren't a friend of me."
Card Description: For my Lotería Card I wanted to share my thoughts on country conflicts. I chose World War as a subject because I want to focus on the innocents who are affected by these conflicts. The colors in the piece represent the dark and sad stories of the effects of these wars since the image itself has darker colors, I want this to be portrayed for the audience; darker colors mean more darker sides of the story. The images in the piece represent the deaths of many soldiers and civilians. For me personally, this card represents the sad and unnecessary deaths of people. I want the audience to focus more on the civilians who have nothing to do with these conflict, on the innocent children and young adults.

My parents are from Oaxaca, Mexico so as my little brother. My five older sisters and I were born here in the U.S. The confrontation between Israel and Hamas, as well as other disputes between nations that resulted in war, served as my inspiration for drawing my Lotería card. The experience of painting was challenging for me since I struggle at painting, but I say that I did a really good job on my work. Life after high school will be getting a job while I continue my education and pursue for my major which is dancing.
