Card Description: For my Loteria Card I wanted to share my thoughts on farm workers.  I chose farm workers as a subject matter because it makes me think about my family.  The colors in the piece represent the people, and crops.  The images in the piece represent farm workers working.  For me personally, this card represents how hard my family works.  I want the audience to see the beauty In agriculture

Student Biography: My name is Elmer Martinez, and I am a senior at Santa Maria High School. I live in Santa Maria, California with my mom, dad, and my three sisters. My family is from Oaxaca Mexico. In my Loteria card, I chose to represent farm workers. What inspired me to draw my Loteria card was my family has been working as farm workers for a really long time. The artistic process was enjoyable because it let me express my thoughts. After high school I will be attending UTI at Rancho Cucamonga.
