Student Biography: My name is Eileen Ventura, and I am a senior at Santa Maria High School. I live in Santa Maria, California with my dad, mother, little brother, and older brother. In my Loteria card, I chose to represent breaking generational cycles. What inspired me to draw my Loteria card was how my dad came from an abusive father. He brought this cycle into our family adopting his father's parenting skills. I want to bring awareness to this situation because many of our parents' parenting skills come from their parents and did not know how to show love to them so it's hard for them to show love to us. The artistic process was hard for me because I knew the topic I wanted to bring awareness to, it was just bringing it to life that I struggled with. Life after high school will be interesting because I know I want to do something with forensics just not sure what exactly I want to do with it.
